What will you be doing?
As a Project Engineer, you will be part of the enthusiastic team at the Technical Business Office and play a key role in our new construction/conversion projects. Preparing, planning and managing the entire design and engineering process for a new construction or conversion project. Supporting the Project Manager in realising projects within the set specifications, planning, budget and quality requirements.
Your role
- The link in translating customer requirements into an engineering package.
- Managing your own engineering and suppliers.
- Working with our production organisation to find the most efficient solutions for construction and renovation.
- Regular consultation with the customer to discuss progress and issues.
- Maintaining contact with the authorities to obtain approval for the engineering package.
- Chairing engineering meetings
Every week starts with a weekly kick-off meeting. This ensures that everyone knows what needs to be done and that you can ask your colleagues for support if you are stuck on something. You will work closely with the Project Manager and the other project team members. You will be responsible for the functional management of technical draughtsmen and the project support staff.
In terms of your work package, you will be faced with a variety of tasks, for which it is important that you have a good understanding of the client's requirements and wishes. The technical specifications are leading in this respect. Coordination with suppliers, subcontractors and the production organisation is crucial.
In terms of content, you will be involved in coordinating the engineering process. You will have both internal and external contacts. You will make adjustments and closely monitor the implementation of the (detailed) engineering. You will monitor the risks in terms of feasibility, manufacturability, planning and budget. You will be able to lead engineering meetings, which will also involve various external parties.

Who are you?
- You have a higher professional education (HBO) level of working and thinking mechanical engineering and/or maritime engineering is an advantage);
- You speak and write Dutch and English well for daily communication with customers and colleagues;
- You can work with Autocad and Cadmatic, MS Office package including MS Project;
- Experience in the maritime sector is an advantage, as is knowledge of ship inspection procedures (customer and class);
- You are able to communicate clearly, both verbally and in writing;
- You are a team player.
